BOWS (Boys Outdoor Wilderness Skills) is an 8 week wilderness appreciation program for boys in grades 6-8 and includes an overnight camping trip upon completion. Sessions are held from 3:30-5pm and are typically held off campus at a partner site, such as Warren Wilson College or YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly. Specific focus is on environmental stewardship, Leave No Trace ethics, eastern plant life and regional weather patterns. The program also supports the development of team-building skills, self-reliance and personal responsibility.
