Dear Interested Families,
Thank you for considering ArtSpace Charter School for your child's academic future. I
know there are a number of choices and a banquet of programs and promises set
before you. The responsibility of finding, and committing to, a particular educational
environment is immense. I want you to know the staff and faculty of ArtSpace are here
to answer any questions you might have, even if it means helping you find a school
other than ours if we believe it is in the best interest of your child.
While there are several types of school philosophies and "styles" in our community, we
prefer to work from a research-based approach. We don't believe it is in your child's
best interest for us just to do "what feels right," or to simply replicate the traditional
factory model with a few extras thrown in now and then. The research speaks loud and
clear as to the results achieved through the integration of the performing and visual arts
with the school's curricula. Coupled with these results will be your child's abiding
awareness of the unique contribution he or she can make within ArtSpace. This will aid
them as they join with fellow students and faculty to create a tapestry of a thinking,
artistic community.
