A national benchmark in
Educational excellence through integration of the arts

Sixth Grade

Sixth graders engage in a variety of learning activities and projects. Activities include annual Shakespeare and Greek performances, multi-media presentations, Renaissance and war crimes trial role plays, an Ecosystem/photosynthesis project, plate tectonics-building, experiments with igneous rocks and annual field trips to places like Grovestone Quarry, Diana Wortham Theater, and Warren Wilson College hiking trails. In sixth grade, we focus on community building efforts. We “grow” our community through class meetings, team-building activities, group projects and experiential field trips.
