Snow Procedure :

It's only a matter of time before we are going to have to employ one of three procedures due to inclement weather. Please review the following procedures.

1. Call the school. By 6:00 am the message on the school phone will announce whether or not school is opening, closed or delayed.

2. Watch WLOS (ABC) for the list of schools closed or delayed.

DELAYED OPENING PROCEDURE:

IMPORTANT: If ArtSpace is shown to have a late opening you must confirm that we are actually opening before you leave for school. A late opening is based upon the assumption that the weather will clear or that the ice will be sufficiently melted in a couple of hours. However, there are no guarantees that the weather will cooperate so double check by calling the school first before heading out.

THERE IS NO BEFORE-CARE. STUDENTS SHOULD BEGIN ARRIVING AT 10:15. CLASSES BEGIN AT 10:30.

CLOSING DURING THE SCHOOL DAY

If we have to close during the day we will:

*Change the busy message on the school phone to reflect early closing.
*Contact WLOS for broadcast.
*Begin calling parents/guardians to inform them the intention to close.

All children will be supervised until they are picked up. Of course, any time that a parent/guardian feels that they need to pick up their child(ren) due to the weather, they are free to do so.

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOUR EMERGENCY INFORMATION IS CORRECT IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE.

ALL AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES WILL BE CANCELED IN THE EVENT OF AN EARLY OR ALL DAY CLOSING (INCLUDING AFTER-CARE).
