Jocelyn has worked in arts education, arts programming and school administration for over 15 years. Her job experiences vary from LEAF Schools & Streets Director, Assistant Principal for Asheville City Schools, and Art Teacher for Chicago Public Schools. Jocelyn holds a BA in Art/Art History from DePaul University, a MAT in Interdisciplinary Arts Education from Columbia College Chicago and a MSA in School Administration from Western Carolina. She was a NC Principal Fellow and has done extensive training in school management, strategic planning and positive behavior support. She is NC licensed in K-12 Art Education as well as School Administration. Her love for teaching art and inspiring youth brings her back to the classroom.
In her spare time, Jocelyn enjoys drawing and painting and creating site specific installations. She also co-produces the Asheville Fringe Arts Festival with her husband each January. This 4 day performing arts festival highlights new and emerging interdisciplinary performances from both local and imported artists for culturally adventurous audiences.
